Understanding Poker Tells

Understanding Poker Tells
One of the best part of playing live poker is the poker tells. I would have to say it is the best thing about playing poker at a live table, the chance to read your opponents faces and hands. I some case you can know their hand without ever looking at it. "Poker tells are symbols or signs indicating what cards your opponents might be holding."

Tells can as well tell you if a opponent is bluffing or if they are holding a good hand or not. These signs can tell you much about the other players at the table. This is why they are called poker tells.
Have you ever thought about where the phrase poker face started from? It like this, in poker you should keep a straight appearance and not allow yourself to give away info about what cards you are holding. If other players can see your tells, they will be able to force you out of the pot. This is why you need to keep a static, emotionless face, not allowing others to gather any information about your hand. If you are able to master this you will be able to win at any table you choice to play at.

It does not matter how small they are just about every player has some kind of tell. Some easy one to notice are a smile for a good hand, getting frustrated when they have a weak hand.

Other tells could include a player getting nervous when they are bluffing, or if a player has hit a big hand and may seem nervous because of the monster hand they have been dealt.
These tells can be different for each player. You will need to keep your eyes on all the players at a table and pick up on this information if you are to find opponents weakness and tells. Once you know the players tells there will be no stopping you. You will begin to rule over the table before you ever realize it.
